Mt. St. Helen's Emerald Obsidianite is a beautiful gem stone that has been created under specific laboratory conditions using rock dust from the eruption of Mount St. Helens. Emerald Obsidianite was born out of a disaster when the first eruption blew apart the mountain with a force many times that of an atomic bomb. The catastrophic blast reduced much of mountain to dust sending it half way around the world. The blast had such force it was like a giant super heated and sand blaster blowing down and stripping all vegetation and miles of forest. It also destroyed and melted the outer shell of expensive trucks and logging equipment. Using acetylene torches to salvage their equipment, workers quickly noticed that the grey ash-like substance was melting and making green stones. Using that information, it was only a matter of time before the first Emerald Obsidianite stones were created, leaving the world with this remarkable legacy of beauty.
